The purpose of the Serra Mesa Recreation Council (SMRC) is to advise and assist San Diego City Parks & Recreation staff on matters related to Parks & Recreation programs and facilities. The council is actively involved in programs and services by promoting and supporting recreational opportunities in the Serra Mesa area. In addition, the SMRC reviews and makes recommendations on city park developments and improvements.
The SMRC consists of community volunteers, youth sports groups leaders, and representatives from community organizations such as the Serra Mesa Community Council (SMCC), Serra Mesa Planning Group (SMPG), Friends of Ruffin Canyon, and local school PTAs. The SMRC is the vehicle through which community members can make their voice heard on issues related to Parks & Recreation facilities, programs, and services.
The Serra Mesa Recreation Council meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every odd month at the Serra Mesa Recreation Center: 9020 Village Glen Drive, San Diego, CA 92123.
